Christmas Day

Christmas morning was so much fun this year! It was great having two kids instead of just one. I felt like Jaden had someone to open presents with, even though Zane can't open them yet. Jaden woke up at about 7:30 and wanted to look through his stocking while we waited for his dad to arrive. Once his dad arrived and Joe was up, at about 7:45, we began to open presents.
This is the family, playing Guitar Hero, at my mom's house. Victor, my brother, and Jaden both got it for Christmas, it was a big hit! Jaden got spoiled this year, he got a Playstation 3, Guitar Hero World Tour, a BMX bike, Legos, board games, books, and other things. Zane got jammies, a book, a tigger stuffed animal from Jaden, and a cool toy from his Aunt Emily and baby food in the stocking. Both of them got Build a Bear gift certificates from their Grandma Vicki, we can't wait to go use them!

Jaden and Zane looked so cute in their Christmas jammies!!

Zane likes to eat paper, we had to watch him close!

Our Family Christmas Party, Thanks Mom!!!

On December 20th my mom threw a Christmas party for our family at the clubhouse at her condos. It was so much fun, it was a Feliz Navidad theme so we ate Mexican food and had a pinata for the kids.

It was great to see family. The kids had so much fun playing with each other! We did themed pajamas for each family's kids and then my sister, Emily, took pictures. She always takes such great pics, I can't wait to see them!!!!

This is my mom with Zane. She looks so cute with him.

Santa came and gave presents to each of the kids. Jaden's blood sugar went low right before Santa came, so he was acting pretty loopy and didn't want to meet Santa, but finally agreed after we got some sugar in him!!

Christmas is Almost Here!!

First off, let me just say that I love freshly fallen snow.
I hate it shortley afterward, but love a big snowstorm as it
is happening.
Second, Jaden's school Christmas program was today. They did
such a good job! Each grade sang two songs and then they did a
finale where every student came into the auditorium and sang Silent Night
and then signed it to the music.
I hope that they keep doing programs like these. It seems that now days
everyone is so afraid they are going to offend someone that you aren't allowed
to do anything anymore. Jaden has a great teacher this year though, she is by far
our favorite so far. They are making gingerbread houses on Friday and
actually do arts and crafts and gym class on a regular basis.
When I was a kid, this was just part of school, now it is nothing but testing.
No wonder kids don't seem to like school as much as they used to!
Zane did really good through the whole program, but started to cry when I put
him in his car seat so we could leave.
I tried to get pictures, but was too far away.
Last year I showed up ten minutes early and couldn't even find a seat.
This year I came thirty minutes early and found a seat in the
third row, but I was on the opposite side than Jaden was singing on.
Next year, maybe I will have to camp out!
Just kidding, but it seems that way because one person will show up
and want to save an entire row for their family.
I can see saving one seat, but not an entire row.
This year I didn't ask if they were saved, I just went and sat down.
The older I get, the braver I get.

I gave in, Zane ate his first bowl of baby cereal

Zane is now five months old and eating baby cereal. I tried to hold out for six months, which is when the American Board of Pediatrics recommends starting, but he was getting very interested in our food and always trying to grab it and put it in his mouth. He also has finally almost doubled his birth weight, he is a whopping 13 lbs. 8 oz. putting him in the 8th percentile for his weight. I figured it was okay to start now. The first time I tried to feed him rice cereal he got a horrid look on his face and almost gagged. I held off for a week longer and tried again, this time he liked it, grabbing the spoon and shoving it into his mouth. It was so cute!!

Jaden

This weekend, Jaden received his wolf badge for cub scouts. He is now able to move on and work on his Bear. The only bad thing is that he will be the only kid in the bear group for about two months, until the next boy turns 9. There are not enough kids in this neighborhood anymore. His grandparents and some cousins came to watch and Jaden was brave and gave the opening prayer. He also earned five arrows, which means he did fifty extra activities above and beyond what was required to earn his wolf.

I also went to Jaden's parent teacher conferences this last week. I am so proud of Jaden, he scored 4s on both his math and reading/language comprehension end of the year tests for last year. These are the highest scores that you can receive on these tests. He scored 100% on almost all of the math portion. On his report card for the term, he scored all fours except for one three. Four is the highest score you can receive on that too! I am so proud of my SMART kid!!!!

I'm Here

Well, I finally decided to create a blog of my family. My sister and mom both have one, and reading theres sucked me in.
The buzz about Twilight has finally sucked me in. I am curious, and I am going to go to the library today and get the book.
